The University of Chicago's Department of Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology (http://mgcb.bsd.uchicago.edu/) in the Biological Sciences Division seeks faculty candidates working in molecular genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, developmental biology, quantitative biology, and related fields. We welcome applicants whose research addresses biological questions at molecular, cellular, and/or organismal scales. Those working in plant systems are especially encouraged to apply. Rank and tenure status will be commensurate with qualification, although we anticipate the tenure-track assistant professor level.

The Biological Sciences Division, the Physical Sciences Division, the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering, and the University of Chicago Medical Center are all contained within one compact campus in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood. Appointees have access to state-of-the-art core facilities, including an endowed, world-class plant growth facility, a fully outfitted microscopy facility, and a cutting-edge next generation sequencing facility. Appointees work with outstanding colleagues and graduate students associated with numerous degree-granting programs at the University and with our affiliates, Argonne National Laboratory and the Marine Biological Laboratory. Competitive research space and start-up funding will be available.
