A post-doctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Erina Vlashi at the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA). We invite applications from outstanding candidates with a keen interest in studying the role of tumor metabolism in promoting therapy resistance, with a focus on radiation therapy and pancreatic cancer. The overall goal will be identification of molecular players that can be targeted for therapeutic benefit.
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled candidates with a strong background in mammalian tissue culture, molecular biology techniques, flow cytometry and some experience with mouse tumor models. Experience in data management and bioinformatics/computational data analysis is desired but not required. Effective communication skills, a strong work ethic, ability to work both independently and in a collaborative group environment are required. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent to apply.
