Job Description Summary:

The Banbury Center is the small conference center at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. The meetings, for groups of between 20 and 30 scientists, are recognized internationally as being amongst the world's best discussion workshops for topics in molecular biology, molecular genetics, human genetics, neuroscience and science policy.

The Center is seeking a Communications Coordinator to lead and execute the daily activities required to deliver CSHL Banbury Center messages to meeting participants, external stakeholders and the public, under the supervision of the director. The Communications Coordinator will also manage specialized activities, especially as related to impact tracking and archiving, as well as assist with the organization of meetings, and perform routine administrative functions as reasonably requested by the Center director.

This is a full-time on-site position 9am-5pm Monday through Friday, with rare weekends and evenings as needed.

Responsibilities:
Communications – General (70%)
  • Update and maintain the Banbury Center website with new meeting reports, publications, photos, other materials;
  • Implement and improve the Center's social media strategy in collaboration with the Banbury director and CSHL Communications department;
