The Genetic Heritage Group in the Division of Science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Research Assistant to work on various studies in metagenomics and population genetics.
The successful applicant will assist senior researchers in the Group drive multiple fascinating projects investigating the role of genetic and microbial variations in health. Our group works on genomics and metegenomics in a variety of systems, including diverse human populations, fermented foods, and domesticated animals. We have collected a large number of samples and are in the process of generating large amount of genomics data. The successful candidate will be involved in analyses of these datasets in combination with previously published and publicly available genomics datasets. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students and undergraduate students.
Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in biology, computer science, or related field. Excellent data analytical and management skills relevant to the project (in particular genomics and bioinformatics) are required. Additional laboratory skills may be developed in the future.
