JOB SUMMARY: The Lung Cancer Genetic Epidemiology Lab seeks to recruit a full-time, motivated, collaborative, and talented Statistical Analyst (Senior Research Analyst) with experience in the analysis of epidemiologic and genomic data. We seek an individual to conduct novel population-based research in lung cancer using large, multi-level datasets. The individual will be expected to contribute intellectually to research, grants, and lab meetings and will have the opportunity to lead their own projects.
The Lung Cancer Genetic Epidemiology Lab is a research group that focuses on understanding the role of social, environmental, and genetic factors influencing lung cancer. Current projects include statistical modeling to address disparities in lung cancer screening eligibility, the genetic architecture of lung cancer among diverse populations, genetics of immunotherapy response, improving racial diversity in lung cancer clinical trials, and population genetic modeling. We are particularly interested in candidates from diverse backgrounds who share an interest in health disparities research. The successful candidate will develop and perform analyses across multiple large-scale projects and will be responsible for the management of data and resources. The successful applicant will have excellent analytic and communication skills, a record of stellar interdisciplinary collaboration, and experience in writing grant applications.
Manage, organize, and analyze data from several large, ongoing population- and clinic-based studies of lung cancer for internal and external collaborators
Keep detailed and accurate records and problem solve, demonstrating initiative and suggesting solutions to problems. There are multiple projects being managed simultaneously, with varying degrees of complexity. Setting priorities and multi-tasking are important
Data management and analysis of epidemiologic, genomic, and clinical data, including complex dataset manipulation
Prepare written reports, research grant applications, and articles for publication
Develop and document analytic pipelines for use by lab members
Support members of the lab with varying computational backgrounds. Provide guidance to students and postdocs
Assist with visualization of data for manuscripts, grants, and presentations
Present at national conferences
Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as they arise
Work as a team to accomplish team goals. Willingly accept responsibility and perform expected and unexpected tasks. Willingly exert extra effort when necessary

The Division of Genetic Medicine is established to host both research and clinical research programs focused on the genetic basis of health and disease. The division provides an academic environment enabling researchers to explore new relationships between disease susceptibility and human genetics.
