Department OverviewAs a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Embryonic Cell and Gene Therapy of Oregon Health & Science University in the area of biology of gametes and preimplantation embryos this researcher will study meiosis 1 and mechanisms of haploidy in mammalian gametes and embryos using various embryological, molecular, immunocytochemical and cell culture techniques. This research is critical for developing functional gametes for treatment of infertility and defining safety and efficacy strategies of novel cell therapies for in vitro fertilization. Embryology experiments will require intermittent late night and early morning (12am-6am) coverage which is outside of typical work day. Flexibility and professionalism at these hours are paramount.
