The Saint Louis University Genomics Core is recruiting a Bioinformatics Research Analyst to work in support of multiple researchers at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. The genomics core supports researchers who conduct research using genomic and multi-omic approaches to understand the biology of infectious diseases, immunology, metabolic diseases, and neuropathic pain.

We are looking for a Bioinformatics Research Analyst with expertise in single-cell RNA-seq, bulk RNA-seq and ChIP-seq data analyses to work in our genomics support core.

Description

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implements:

• Algorithms and computer software for analyzing omics-based data sets [high-throughput, massively parallel genomic/proteomic/clinical].
• Data management and analysis solutions that aid in the storage, investigation, and dissemination of large data sets.

Coordinates research projects with other investigators and institutions. Participates in developing hypotheses and experimental design. Assists with reporting of methods, data, and results.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in statistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics, statistical genetics, medical statistics, mathematics or similar.
• Strong background in RNA-seq analyses (STAR, SALMON, KALLISTO, DESEQ2) and single-cell RNA-seq (CellRanger, Seurat)
• Working knowledge of UNIX, Python and R

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, bioinformatics, biostatistics, or a related field plus two years of experience; OR a master's degree in computer science, bioinformatics, biostatistics, or a related field; OR combined education and experience of seven years.

Saint Louis University requires COVID-19 vaccinations and a booster dose for all students, staff, and faculty who are physically present on our St. Louis campuses. â¢Â Â   Those who received the J&J vaccine at least two months ago.
