The Department of Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is seeking an outstanding applicant to fill a cancer genetic counselor position working with an experienced and motivated team.  This counselor will provide genetic counseling at LAC+USC Medical Center for all cancer predisposition indications in individuals with cancer, as well as those with family history. The patient population at LAC+USC reflects the diversity of Los Angeles County, and our genetic counselors strive to provide compassionate and culturally informed genetic counseling. This genetic counselor will develop and hone counseling skills in Spanish and help develop linguistically and literacy appropriate materials. 

In addition, they will work in collaboration with a growing team of genetic counselors, physicians, and researchers at the University of Southern California and the Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center.  As an integral part of the team, the genetic counselor will support research activities related to cancer genetic counseling, genomics, and precision oncology, including project formulation, grant submissions, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.

Minimum Education: Master’s degree in genetic counseling, ABGC Board certified/ eligible, California genetic counseling license. 

Preferred Experience/Knowledge: One-year experience in genetic counseling is preferred, but not required.

Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
