Job Description:

The Data Analyst will contribute to translational research initiatives supported by Advance-CTR specific to the Biomedical Informatics, Bioinformatics, and Cyberinfrastructure Enhancement (BIBCE). The Data Analystâ™s principal efforts will be focused on qualitative data collection and analysis associated with mixed-methods health research studies, including formative, summative, implementation, and effectiveness evaluation activities, which may be defined by work supported by extramural grants and contracts. The Data Analyst will also support translational research scholars with qualitative data analysis, including NVivo software use.

The incumbent will work collaboratively with other members of Advance-CTR and BIBCE staff, collaborating across Brown University and its affiliated hospitals, as well as regional, national, and international partners.

This is a fixed term position with a current end date of 7/31/2026, which may be extended based upon the availability of funding..

Education and Experience

• Bachelorâ™s degree required (medical anthropology, sociology, public health or related fields) preferred and 0-3 years research experience.

• Masterâ™s degree in health or social sciences (e.g., medical anthropology, sociology, public health) or related fields is preferred.
• Experience with conducting qualitative research in healthcare and community settings is required.
• Experience in managing and executing research study activities, preferably with underserved populations is preferred.
• Has a thorough understanding of FDA, ICH, and GCP regulations, guidelines, policies and practices for conducting clinical investigations is preferred.
• Experience with both Windows and MacOS, Google Suite, NVivo, Audacity Teams, and Zoom is preferred.
• Or, a combination of education and experience in qualitative and social science research methods.
