The Nutrigenomics and Novel therapies Laboratory, directed by Dr. Teepu Siddique Lab is a neuroscience/neurogenomics lab with the aim of identifying genetic defects in neurological disease, the epigenomic topography of the epigenome in the nucleus and its effect on gene expression in human tissue and animal models of disease as an approach in understanding the mechanism of disease. To test hypotheses, animal and cell models are engineered to study the pathology and test rational treatments. Human pathology is used to understand common routes of disease expression. This knowledge is used to design rational therapies including small molecules, gene editing, gene delivery in specifically engineered animal models including those with circadian disturbances and where pathology is visible through a skull window in the living animal under confocal microscopy.

Fellows are encouraged to compete for NIH type training or other foundation type grants
Supervision summer students.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. degree in neuroscience or genetics or cell and molecular biology or bioinformatics.
The ideal candidate is an intelligent and hard-working person who would be expected to fill in the gaps with supervision and time.
A bioinformatics background will be an added plus.
