Cedars-Sinai has named Ophir Klein, MD, PhD, an internationally recognized innovator in pediatrics and genetics, as the inaugural executive director of Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children's and the David and Meredith Kaplan Distinguished Chair in Children's Health.

Guerin Children's represents Cedars-Sinai's ambitious vision for children's healthcare. It will fill a critical gap in care for young patients in Los Angeles and beyond by providing a seamless continuum of primary and specialty care for hospitalized patients and outpatients as they grow from newborns to adolescents to adults.

The new enterprise will offer a full complement of pediatric specialties, maternal-fetal medicine, and pediatric surgery and transplants, leveraging expertise from Cedars-Sinai's nationally recognized adult programs in cancer, cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, obstetrics, pulmonology, rheumatology, metabolic disorders and the neurosciences.

• Working independently but in close cooperation and in consultation with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientist, the Postdoctoral Fellow will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout training period. May develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols.
• Analyzes and interprets data. May assist in preparation of grant proposals. Participates in publications and presentations as author or co-author. Not responsible for generating grant funds

• Will assist in preparation of grant proposals and will be encouraged to apply for relevant fellowship grants.
• Will participate in publications and presentations as author or co-author ad abstract preparations.
• Will regularly present his progress through informal meetings with PI and/or Research Scientist, in lab meetings, group meetings and internal seminar series.
• Designs and performs experiments. Will keep appropriate experimental records and documentation and analyze the results with the Principal Investigator.

• May develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols.
• Will analyze, interpret, summarize, and compile data.
• Will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures to study stem cell homeostasis and regenerative capacities, with a specific focus on murine dental stem cells throughout training period.
• Will operates and maintains equipment and instruments.

• Direct experience in single cell RNA-sequencing, bioinformatics analyses and gene regulation networks analysis strongly preferred.
• Experience performing FISH and other classical molecular biology assays strongly preferred
