As part of the university's comprehensive vaccination program, all Cornell employees are required to have and provide proof of an FDA-or WHO-authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine or have obtained a university-approved disability/medical or religious exemption, regardless of their role and work location.
New hires are required to provide documentation showing full vaccination status (that is, completion of two shots of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or one shot of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson) before their first day of work. If a new hire's vaccination is not complete or information is not received by their start date, the first day of work will be delayed. It is possible in some cases that an offer of employment may be withdrawn.

Located in Ithaca, N.Y., Cornell University is a bold, innovative, inclusive and dynamic teaching and research university where staff, faculty, and students alike are challenged to make an enduring contribution to the betterment of humanity. Cornell University is one of the largest and most diverse institutions in the Ivy League. The College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University is recognized internationally as a leader in public health, biomedical research, animal medicine, and veterinary medical education. Ranked consistently as one of the best veterinary colleges in the nation, the College's strength is due to its strategic breadth of focus areas and its depth of expertise in each of those areas; the achievements of its faculty, staff, alumni, and students; and its commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.
The Kurpios Lab is located at the College of Veterinary Medicine, in the Department of Molecular Medicine at Cornell University, Ithaca. We are currently recruiting outstanding and energetic individuals who are broadly interested in human health and disease. Our lab is particularly fascinated with the field of developmental biology because the mechanisms discovered through the study of embryonic development have been fundamental to understanding disease. We use a combination of classical chicken embryology and modern mouse genetics to elucidate how basic cellular processes define the shape and function of organs. We are most fascinated by the evolutionarily conserved left-right (LR) organ asymmetry as errors of organ laterality (reversed or randomized growth of organs) are fundamentally linked to life-threatening birth defects including cancer, highlighting an urgent need to define the molecular basis of organ asymmetry.
Our current research focuses on three main topics: 1) Mechanisms underlying intestinal development; 2) The formation and remodeling of blood vessels; 3) Signaling pathways involving lymphatic development and physiology. We have been supported by grants from the National Institute of Health and the March of Dimes. Please visit our website for more information: http://kurpioslab.vet.cornell.edu/

- Preparing media, buffers, and other reagents as necessary - especially those used routinely for detecting gene expression in tissues.
