The Molecular Biology Core Facilities at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking an enthusiastic genomics applications scientist to assist in the development, implentation, and operation of next-generation sequencing (NGS) sample preparation methods and technology platforms. The candidate will be self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills.

Collaboration and support for internal and external investigators as well as corporate clients by providing technical support and guidance in experimental design, laboratory methodology, sample preparation, data collection and bioinformatics.
Training and consultation for research staff, students, and faculty members for using MBCF instrumentation.
Coordination and collaboration with computational biologists to develop and implement bioinformatic pipelines for data analysis to facilitate data interpretation, dissemination, and publication.
Evaluation and service development for emerging genomic technologies.
Providing collaboration support documentation for funding opportunities and assisting investigators with associated experimental design, data analysis and interpretation.
Development, implementation, and documentation of best-practice procedures for sample analysis to deliver state of the art services in an efficient manner.
Serving as an expert on current method and technology developments related to current and prospective MBCF genomic technologies and services.
Training and supervising faculty, research specialists, graduate and undergraduate students in research techniques, use of laboratory equipment, computer data analysis programs and software relevant to MBCF services.
Development of protocols for greater efficiency, reproducibility and accuracy of analysis.
BS, MS, or PhD with experience in molecular biology or biochemistry.
2+ years relevant laboratory experience
Prior experience with Next Generation Sequencing library preparation is required.
Knowledge of bioinformatics and statistical analyses
Ability to interpret, troublehsoot, and communicate analytical results
Experience with automation is a plus
