Job Description:
A genetic counseling position is available at Perinatal Associates of New Mexico, at our Santa Fe location. For this full-time position, Perinatal Associates provides generous compensation, with a great benefits package including health, dental, and retirement benefits. Funding for CEUs is reimbursed, as are memberships to NSGC and ABGC. The position is highly autonomous and involves providing counseling, both in-person and via telemedicine, for a wide range of high-risk indications. 

Genetic counselors are an integral part of any quality high-risk perinatology practice. Our private practice currently consists of two genetic counselors, four maternal-fetal-medicine physicians, and nine advanced practice nurses. Perinatal Associates provides ultrasound services at eleven locations statewide, and genetics services at four. The position is based in Santa Fe, but occasional travel to other locations may be required.

Santa Fe is our state’s capital, located about one hour north of Albuquerque. It is the oldest capital city in the country, with fascinating history and culture. The art scene is world-renowned, as are the restaurants and open-air markets.

Responsibilities:

• Providing prenatal and preconception genetic counseling for high-risk patients.
• Arranging appropriate genetic testing and communicating results to patients.
• Reviewing incoming lab results from outlying offices.
• Providing written communication to referring providers detailing the genetic counseling session and any related genetic testing results.
• Provide virtual genetic counseling services to outlying offices when indicated.

Requirements:
Applicants should have a genetic counseling degree from an accredited program, and be board certified or board eligible.
