Junior/Assistant/Associate/Full Specialist Positions Available
UCSF Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences
Various laboratories in the UCSF Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences have multiple Junior/Assistant/Associate/Full Specialist Positions available immediately. Title and salary will be commensurate with level of experience. The department is focused on developing new areas of therapeutic engineering, pharmacogenomics, computational biology, systems pharmacology, drug development and regulatory sciences. We seek candidates who can assist and perform complex DNA and RNA isolation from blood and generate whole-genome sequencing libraries for them followed by their computational analyses. The individual will also need to have knowledge in a variety of functional genomic techniques, including CUT&TAG, ATAC-seq, massively parallel reporter assays and others, along with their computational analyses. In addition, the individual will be involved in mentoring graduate students and postdoc on all of these techniques.
Requirements: Specialists appointed at the Junior rank must possess a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate related discipline. Specialists appointed at the Assistant or Associate rank must possess a Master’s Degree (or equivalent degree) in the appropriate related discipline. Specialists appointed at the Full rank must possess a PhD (or a terminal degree) in the appropriate related discipline. The candidate must have at least one year experience working in a lab and research environment and proven ability to work well as part of a team and have enthusiasm for the practice of science. Candidates must meet the required qualifications at the time of hire. Applicant’s materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission.
