RESEARCH SCIENTIST , McGovern Institute for Brain Research , to join a team exploring new animal models and technologies in brain disorder research. Will lead projects developing novel animal models, investigating new mechanisms of brain disorders, and developing gene therapy approaches for brain disorders; work with genome-editing teams to establish novel animal models and use a variety of new technologies to discover novel mechanisms; supervise technical associates working on the project; and be involved in manuscript preparation and grant writing.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : a minimum of a Ph.D. and/or MD degree in biological science or related field; at least four years of directly relevant research experience in neuroscience or genetic engineering; and comprehensive knowledge of neuroscience, brain disorders, molecular and cellular biology, genome editing, and transgenic animal models. Must have extensive training and hands-on experience with molecular and cellular methods; genetics; CRISPR technology and genome-editing; and designing, generating, and analyzing transgenic animals.
