Position Summary:
The Department Resource Manager is an exciting leadership opportunity to manage all human resource and financial management functions within the Department of Biostatistics, School of Public Health and Health Professions (SPHHP). We are seeking dynamic candidates who have demonstrated commitment to excellence by providing leadership in business administration that contributes toward building an equitable and diverse academic environment.
In this role, you will assist the department chair with managing administrative operations of the department. Your duties will include:
- Oversight and coordination of all aspects of personnel management, including but not limited to staff hiring, reappointment, and organizing documentation related to VISA processing, faculty hiring, promotion and tenure process.
- Serve as strategic partner to chair and faculty on advancing planning and administrative operations, provide general office management and oversight of day-to-day operations, including supervision of two staff.
- Financial management functions including management of department budgets, coordination of service centers, account reconciliation, reporting, auditing and implementation of internal controls that ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.
- Working cooperatively with department faculty and staff to enhance effectiveness of department on a wide variety of administrative tasks related to planning, operations, resource management, and departmental event coordination, proactively identifying areas for improvement.
- Support the chair in data analysis, department resource planning and annual budgeting process.
About the Department: SPHHP's
Department of Biostatistics advances biomedical sciences and public health through scholarly activities that encompass research, education and professional and community leadership. The department offers an undergraduate major and minor in statistics, along with three master's level programs and a Ph.D. program. The Department of Biostatistics has a formal presence in the Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, Clinical and Translational Research Center, Institute for Healthcare Informatics and Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Department of Biostatistics faculty conduct research in statistical sciences (statistics and biostatistics) and collaborate extensively with disciplines across the scientific spectrum. Examples of collaborative relationships include work with investigators in the biomedical, public health, computer science and engineering fields.

Minimum Qualifications:
