Position Summary:
Two NSF-funded postdoctoral positions are available to study cell wall biogenesis and the targeting of cell wall glycoproteins for incorporation into the cell wall in the model filamentous fungus Neurospora crassa. The positions are for research in the laboratory of Dr. Stephen Free. The research project focuses on the question of how fungi are able to distinguish between cell wall glycoproteins and glycoproteins that are secreted into the environment.
The postdoctoral researchers will be expected to:
Work independently and collaboratively on aspects of the research project.
Help write research manuscripts and to mentor undergraduate students.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have a PhD in an appropriate biological field of study
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with expertise in aspects of glycobiology, cell biology, molecular genetics, biochemistry, and fluorescence microscopy are encouraged to apply.
