Postdoctoral Associate Position- Comparative Coagulation Laboratory

The Comparative Coagulation Laboratory seeks a postdoctoral associate to assist in development of translational biomarkers to diagnose blood coagulation disorders. Located in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences and Population Medicine and Animal Health Diagnostic Center at Cornell University, the laboratory is a referral center for advanced hemostasis testing in animals. Our laboratory continually develops and adapts new assays for biomedical research, preclinical pharmaceutical drug and device development, and in support of high-quality veterinary care.

Duties: Assist the faculty Director of the Coagulation Laboratory in multi-species assay development and in the application of novel techniques to characterize animal models of hereditary and acquired hemostatic defects. Assistance with abstract and manuscript preparation and attendance at meetings is desirable.

Qualifications & Requirements: Ph.D. in related fields. Experience with protein expression, isolation, and characterization, quantitative and functional protein assays, ELISA, multiplex, and other immunologic assay techniques, basic molecular biology and bioinformatics techniques (PCR, reverse transcriptase PCR, expression profiling). A background in hematology, coagulation, or platelet physiology is desirable.

This is a full time, one-year appointment, subject to continued renewal based on performance and available funding.
