Position Summary This position will develop original research leading to an understanding of temperate-zone tree fruit dormancy and cold hardiness in the Tree Fruit Physiology Research Program in the Department of Horticulture at Michigan State University. Responsibilities include the development and execution of field and laboratory experiments designed to understand the physiological, anatomical and molecular factors and mechanisms controlling vegetative maturity, dormancy transitions, cold hardiness, acclimation and de-acclimation of tree fruit species. The candidate will develop and maintain research experimental plots at MSU research centers, commercial stakeholder-collaborator sites, in addition to experimental material in MSU greenhouse and growth chamber facilities.
