Post Doctoral Fellow - Department of Human Genetics
The Weinshenker lab in the Department of Human Genetics at Emory University School of Medicine, in Atlanta, Georgia, is looking for a postdoctoral fellow to join our team. Our research program focuses on investigating how the locus coeruleus modulates behavior in health and disease. We use knockout/transgenic rodents, viral vector-mediated gene expression, optogenetics and chemogenetics, pharmacology, and biochemistry to understand the molecules and circuits underlying affective disorders and neurodegenerative disease. The currently available position will take the lead on a NIDA-funded R01 project investigating how mu opioid receptor-galanin receptor 1 (MOR-GalR1) heteromers in the VTA modulate opioid reward and reinforcement. Come join our fun and collaborative team
