Pediatric Genetic Counseling Professionals Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital - Chicago, Illinois Full-time Opportunities
Lurie Children's is a leading pediatric hospital that provides superior family-centered care and offers the latest innovations in medical care, education, and research. The Division of Genetics, Birth Defects and Metabolism is a diverse group of 4 geneticists, 22 genetic counselors, advanced practice providers, nurses, metabolic nutritionists, a social worker, clinical research staff, and administrative support staff working as a team to provide the absolute best care to the families and patients we serve. Our institution features on-site cytogenetics, biochemical genetics, and molecular genomics laboratories, all of which work closely with our clinical team for optimal outcomes. Opportunities include the following:
Clinical Genetic Counselor (Job #2021-16880): In this role, which is 100% clinical in nature, you will collaborate with members of our clinical team in evaluating and managing patients with a variety of indications in a number of clinical settings, including in-person ambulatory visits, inpatient consultations, and telehealth visits.
Laboratory Utilization Management Genetic Counselor (Job #2021-17311): Contributing to the success of two dynamic groups, you will collaborate with both the laboratory and clinic teams to provide guidance on test ordering and management of genomic testing resources.
Genetic Counselor (Job #2021-17865): Here is your opportunity to contribute to the education of medical and genetic counseling students, participate in academic research, and take leadership roles in professional societies.
Credentials required for all three positions:
Advanced interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Master's degree from accredited genetic counseling program
Board certification in genetic counseling
Illinois genetic counselor licensure
