4 FDA approved drugs; 15+ clinical candidates; 400+ patents The Novartis Gene Therapies culture embraces the mission of bringing change to those devastated by genetic disease. As a compassionate and dedicated team, we are enthusiastic about the science behind our work and finding answers to difficult questions. We are dedicated to communities affected by rare diseases, and these patients and families are the motivation for everything we do. We have built a team with exceptional depth of experience, unified by a common vision: to develop gene therapies with the potential to positively impact the lives of the patients and families devastated by rare and life-threatening genetic diseases. Though we are proud of what we have achieved to date, we remain relentlessly focused on making that vision a reality. The Gene Therapy Unit within the Neuroscience department at NIBR is seeking a motivated PhD-level Virologist/Molecular Biologist to develop innovative AAV-based tools for targeting CNS in the context of neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders. The ideal candidate will have strong background in the design, development and optimization of AAV vectors. The Investigator will assume a crucial role in the development of a proprietary gene delivery platform through implementation of cutting-edge technologies and will conceive, conduct, and analyze experiments using a variety of in vivo and in vitro models.
