UMass Memorial MedicalGroup, the clinical partner of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, is seeking ABRand Neuroradiology CAQcertified/eligibleradiologist.The Department of Radiology at UMass Memorial Medical Center www.umassmed.edu/radiologyperforms over800,000 studies per year, acrossfivehospitalsand an outpatient imaging center. Current faculty include60fellowship trained Radiologists, all practicing in organ ormodality-baseddivisions, including a 24/7/365 Emergency Radiology Division. The department trains 5 Residents per year (20 total).
In Octoberof 2017,the department implementedan enterprise-wide new PACS system(AGFA andTeraRecon), as well as EPIC EMR. Themaindepartmentsand outpatient imaging centerin Worcesterhas8 MRIs, 7 CTs,including a Siemens flash and two Siemens 128 Definition Edge CTs.
The Neuroradiology division interprets over55,000 studiesper year. The Division is currently comprised of9 faculty members.Thereare2 ACGME accreditedNeuroradiologyfellowship positions, and an MRI fellow who devotes 50% effort to neuroradiology.Areas of clinical focus include:
Stroke imaging including perfusion
Adult tumor imaging
Advanced Neuroimaging including DTI and BOLD imaging
Head and neck tumors
The neuroradiology divisionsworkin close collaboration with our internationally recognizedNeurointerventionaldivision (NIR) which is comprised offourfaculty and is supported by a robust NIH and industry funded research program via our New England Center for Stroke Research (NECStR) andnew3TPhilipsMRI research MRI core. In addition,wehave close collaboration with both Neurology and Neurosurgery.We are in the initial stages of creatingan integratedNeuroNexusinstitute, which will link multiple areas of neuroscience, neuroimaging, and informatics with a particular focus on translation gene therapy for neurodegenerative diseases.
