This internship will provide the participant with a hands-on research experience in a study associated with seed germination and barley malting quality at the USDA-ARS, Cereal Crops Research Unit, Madison, WI. The selected participant will learn how to collect data on the effect of ozone-induced reactive oxygen species on barley seed germination. Additionally the participant will learn how to conduct malting quality assays that includes enzyme activity, estimating protein content, beta glucan content.
