Junior Specialist- Fraser Lab
The Fraser Lab in the UCSF Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences have a Junior Specialist position available immediately. Salary will be commensurate with level of experience. The department is focused on developing new areas of therapeutic engineering, pharmacogenomics, computational biology, systems pharmacology, drug development and regulatory sciences. The Fraser lab uses a combination of structural biology, biochemistry, and deep mutational scanning methods for studying how proteins work in physiology and disease. We seek highly motivated and talented candidates interested in high throughput sequencing-based approaches to studying receptor biophysics and biochemistry.
The successful candidate will participate in multiple research projects dependent on skills and interests.
This full-time position will include:
- Administrative and laboratory management duties.
- Performing molecular biology, DNA sequencing, mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, and data analysis.
- Working collaboratively on a range of exciting projects The position is for at least two years and ideal for an individual looking to gain additional research experience prior to further development such as graduate, medical, or MD/PhD training
Required qualifications are:
- Bachelor's degree (or in process). Must have bachelor's degree at the time of appointment.
- Familiarity with wet lab methods
- Excellent communication
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and an enthusiasm for science
