A postdoctoral associate research position is available for a highly motivated candidate with PHD training in molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology to join the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and Department of Biochemistry & Biophysics, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) School of Medicine, USA.
Our lab (webpage: http://www.gregwanglab.com) emphasizes on mechanistic understandings of gene regulation and chromatin, phase separation-mediated regulations, stem cells, and human disease notably cancer. Our recently published papers include Nature (2021), Nature Communications (2021), Nature Genetics (2020), Nature Communications (2020), Nature (2018), Molecular Cell (2018), Cancer Cell (2016), Blood (2015) and Molecular Cell (2013).
With recent acquisition of funds from NIH/NCI, we have multiple positions available for Postdoctoral associates focused on experimental biology (covering Gene Regulation, Phase separation, and Cancer/Stem cell).
On-going projects include (1) biochemical characterization of epigenetic factors/complexes that regulate gene expression in stem cells or cancer cells; (2) phase separation mediated molecular mechanisms underlying normal and pathological development; (3) knockout and knock-in mouse models with deficiency in histone /DNA methylation regulation in context of development and tumorigenesis, with a special focus on hematopoietic disease; (4) epigenomic and transcriptome analyses (ChIP-Seq and RNA-Seq) of normal versus cancer cells to understand 3D chromatin structure and to delineate pathways essential for tumor growth.
Education and Experience:
Applicants should be self-motivated with a track record of publication in the above area, have laboratory and analytical skills, and be a critical thinker.
