Position Summary:The Kaelber lab is recruiting a scientist to work on the boundaries of structural biology and virology, using cryo-electron microscopy to answer fundamental questions in virus disassembly and infection of mammalian cells, and to contribute toward structure-based rational design of viral nanotechnologies such as gene therapy vectors. This position will involve significant collaborations with both industry scientists and academic scientists. Training will be provided in cutting-edge cryogenic ultramicroscopy technologies including cryoFIB. Mentorship of 1-2 undergraduate students will be encouraged.
