Postdoctoral Research Scientist
The Department of Systems Biology at Columbia University is seeking Postdoctoral Research Scientists in the systems evolutionary biology field to join the laboratory of Dr. Dennis Vitkup. We are looking for scientists who are interested in understanding how functional organization of biological systems shapes and constrains evolution of proteins, cellular networks, and species' phenotypes. To invert the logic of the famous statement by Theodosius Dobzhansky, we believe that very little in protein and genomic evolution makes sense except in the light of the underlying biology. We pursue both computational and analytical research, and closely interact with our experimental collaborators. We are also interested in reciprocal interactions between evolutionary processes and complex ecologica
