Principal Investigator, Leigh Ellis PhD, is looking for a Research Associate III (RA III) to join the team!

The Ellis lab at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center seeks a motivated individual to join the team. The Ellis laboratory interests include the characterization of comprehensive molecular signatures, survival pathways and associated rational therapeutic targets in lethal prostate cancers, with a specific focus on epigenetics and lineage plasticity, and their role in disease progression and therapeutic resistance.
The successful candidate will work closely with, and support, the PI in managing overall lab operations. This includes equipment planning and maintenance, space allocation, training of lab members, and ensuring lab members have everything needed for their research. In addition, the individual will work closely with the PI and senior staff to support projects and collaborations. A key function will be to foster the continuous development of the lab's state-of-the-art environment for cutting edge research including high throughput drug and single-cell screens, 3D organoids and in vivo tumor models.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and organize lab operations, including:
Support daily lab operations by ensuring lab staff have the reagents and consumables needed for research projects.
Coordinate equipment planning, procurement, maintenance and repair.
Work with purchasing and Cedars-Sinai staff to purchase lab reagents. Maintain a lab ordering system and coordinate with lab staff.
Space planning and assignment.
Keep track of general lab practices and protocols, resolve issues and implement process improvements.
Manage the onboarding, training and offboarding of employees in the group.
Support the preparation of annual reports to funding agencies, foundations, and institutions.
Bachelors Required, MS, or PhD in biomedical sciences or related field.
3 years of demonstrated ability as a lab technician, lab operations and/or experience in a lab management role.
Background in research related to the general interests (gene regulation, chromatin, molecular biology, cancer biology, 3D organoids, in vivo mouse models) of the lab is a plus.
Excellent decision-making and collaboration skills with proven relationship building skills.
Attention to detail, a practical mindset and ability to multitask.
