The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences, Yale School of Medicine has a temporary full-time position open for a board eligible/board certified genetic counselor to join our Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians in a high volume prenatal diagnosis service as part of a world-class Maternal Fetal Medicine academic faculty practice. This temporary position will be available from 1/3/22-9/30/22. The genetic counselor will work directly with one other genetic counselor and a large staff of physicians to provide counseling for first trimester risk assessment, CVS, amniocentesis, ultrasound examination, cell-free DNA screening, personal and family histories of genetic conditions, and assisted reproductive technologies including PGT. At present, the vast majority of genetic counseling sessions are conducted via video telehealth. There is an active Fetal Therapy program, as well as several other multidisciplinary programs that contribute to a diverse clinical experience. The counselor will interpret and evaluate patient/family medical histories, coordinate genetic testing at in-house and specialty laboratories; interpret medical/genetic tests; communicate results to patients, families, referring physicians and other specialists; recommend follow-up care and arrange referrals to medical specialists; and participate in the development and implementation of new approaches to providing genetic counseling services.
Yale University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. Women, persons with disabilities, protected veterans, and members of minority groups are encouraged to apply.
