Job Summary: Responsible for providing prenatal and preconception genetic counseling. -Elicit relevant medical and family history, provide psychosocial genetic counseling, and offer appropriate prenatal screening and testing to families at increased risk for genetic conditions or birth defects. -Coordinating prenatal screening and testing, assist in charting, reporting normal and abnormal results. -Counsel patients on all aspects of a prenatal diagnosis. -Participate in the education of medical students, residents, and provide supervision of genetic counseling students. -Maintain and improve current knowledge on genetics and advancements in the field of genetic testing and counseling. -Works closely and collaborates with two other genetic counselors, the care providers of Maternal Fetal Medicine, and referring OB practices.
Minimum Requirements: Master's Degree from an American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) accredited genetic counseling training program required.
Preferred Qualifications: One to three years of experience in prenatal genetic counseling preferred.
Licensure and Certifications: Must be a Licensed Genetic Counselor and have certification in Genetic Counseling by the American Board of Genetic Counselors, or be eligible for certification.
