Summary:The Schmidt lab in the Department of Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development / College Biological Sciences is seeking a Researcher to manage lab operations and conduct experimental procedures as part of an interdisciplinary team of biochemists, protein engineers, and virologists. The laboratory conducts large scale structure/function and engineering studies in complex protein systems such as mammalian ion channels and viral vectors (specifically, Adeno-Associated Virus). Our goals are to develop new molecular reagents for optical and chemical control of cellular physiology & signaling and cell-type specific gene delivery in the brain other tissues of the human body.
