Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory located on the North Shore of Long Island has an immediate opening for an Accounts Receivable Analyst. The Accounts Receivable Analyst will be responsible for overseeing all internal and external non-grant receivable functions. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Maintaining accounts receivable customer files and records, including new customer accounts, in the Lawson ERP accounting system. • Daily processing and posting of payments, applying cash receipts to customer’s accounts and investigating discrepancies. • Daily reconciliation of high transactional credit card receipts to sales. • Processing timely and accurate invoicing on all receivables, including third party billing. • Managing cash application making sure all cash receipts are applied properly. • Researching and resolving short payments, customer deductions, invoicing errors, non-payments, etc. • Reviewing collection reports and following up duplicate invoicing on customers with past due amounts as well as performing systematic review of past due accounts, and facilitating collections of past due receivables. • Preparing monthly reconciliations and reports, including AR/GL reconciliation. • Making recommendations to improve quality of receivables, invoicing, and collection procedures. • Preparing relevant account analyses and supporting the monthly financial closing and reporting process. • Assisting in the performance of general ledger account reviews including special reporting and analyses.
Education: An Associate’s degree is required.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounts receivable is preferred.
Skills: Extensive knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook, and Lawson or other ERP system experience, a plus.
