Responsibilities will include the analysis of RNA-seq data across growth stages of fungal species, comparative analysis of gene expression, and functional analysis of genes using knockout technologies. This is part of larger joint project multiple collaborating labs to examine the evolution of spore germination and initial growth in fungi with different host preferences. Timely interpretation, presentation and publication of data is expected. The position is available for one year with renewal up to two years, contingent upon satisfactory performance and available funding. Desired start date is as soon as possible.

Doctorate -Microbiology, Genetics or Related Field
Experience with filamentous fungi is essential. PhD in Microbiology, Genetics or related field completed within the last 2 years. Experience with growth and manipulation of Epichloe or closely related species is required.
Competitive candidates will have training in bioinformatics and/or molecular biology of filamentous fungi. A strong work ethic with excellent interpersonal skills, strong quantitative, written, verbal communication skills, and a publication record commensurate with time since degree completion are preferred.
