Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): High School Diploma/GED. Experience in a laboratory setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Biology, Chemistry, Computational Biology or related field. Two (2) years lab experience. Familiar with basic molecular and cell biology techniques such as molecular cloning, cell culturing (bacteria, yeast, insect cells). Experience in recombinant protein expression and purification. Familiar with Linux operating systems and some basic knowledge of programming using Python, C, C++, or Perl. Experienced in image processing in single-particle cryo-Electron Microscopy.
Brief Description of Duties: The Project Aide will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) in the laboratory. The successful incumbent must be responsible, detailed-oriented and able to work independently and in a team setting. They will have strong verbal and written communication skills, be motivated, able to multitask and have good organizational skills.
Under the direction of the PI, help conduct research experiments in the field of molecular biology, biochemistry and structural biology
Assist in data collection and analysis as needed for projects.
Make reagents and solutions and assist researchers as needed for projects.
Other duties as assigned.
