Cedars-Sinai Biomanufacturing Center (CBC) is a new, state-of-the-art biomanufacturing facility located in West Hollywood, California. In this role, the Business Development Consultant will be responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and making recommendations on new business development opportunities that are presented to Cedars-Sinai in the form of completed business plans. The Business Development Consultant will provide business development, operational and planning support to the leadership across Cedars-Sinai Biomanufacturing Center.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and complete business plans by identifying, retrieving and analyzing data; convert into information required to make decisions and recommendations on new business development opportunities for the Biomanufacturing Center.
Monitor, evaluate, define and prepare detailed market research and/or trend assessments and analysis. This includes competitor analysis, demand forecasts, key market trends resulting from changing regulatory landscape impacting the business of the Biomanufacturing Center.
Evaluate operational needs for new programs, services and technology, including staffing requirements and capital needs.
Develop detailed financial modeling and analyses, including income statements, cash flow analysis and balance sheets; as well as economic projections and valuations using standard acceptable methodologies for new and/or existing programs, services, and healthcare technology to evaluate new business opportunities and operational needs.
Works with Cedars-Sinai staff and leadership to convert business analysis into implementation plans in a variety of different settings across the Biomanufacturing Center; including during and after implementation of new programs and/or services.
Helps direct review analyses of programs and compares their results to business plans and/or budgeting targets.
Provide staff support for Biomanufacturing Center leadership on special business development projects.
May provide feedback to business development analysts on data received for business development projects.
Initiate and direct review analysis of internal and external programs and projects and compares results to business plans and/or budgets, including financial analysis and standardized reports.
Support implementation of operational and business development projects to meet milestones, deliverables and timelines.
Support leadership to identify and implement operational efficiencies to existing enterprise and support strategic growth initiatives.
Bachelor's degree, business or related, required.
Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), or Public Administration (MPA), preferred.
Experience and Skillset:
Five (5) years in planning, finance, and/or business development experience in a healthcare organization or consulting organization providing services to the healthcare industry; or equivalent experience.
Must be able to manage competing priorities, while being extremely adaptable and flexible and maintaining a positive work environment.
Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills and recommend solutions, analyze qualitative and quantitative information for decision support.
Ability to promote and foster participation/collaboration among individuals and groups.
Ability to provide and/or support a level of work excellence and accuracy; recognize and address flaws or errors that others may overlook
Ability to apply advanced knowledge of science/learning/specialized intellectual instruction to analyze, interpret or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances.
Working knowledge of The Joint Commission and other state and local regulatory requirements.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
Demonstrates commitment to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues.
Demonstrated success working independently, forging relationships, and managing multiple tasks with minimal directions.
High level of proficiency using Microsoft Windows and other Microsoft Office software: MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Word, etc.
Travel to conferences as a representative of the Biomanufacturing Center.
