Postdoc Research Associate- Plant Evolutionary Genomics
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Wendel lab at Iowa State University (https://www.eeob.iastate.edu/faculty/wendel/) is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher who is broadly interested in evolutionary genomics with an emphasis on allopolyploidy. The conceptual direction of the position encompasses cytonuclear coevolutionary and homoeologous recombinational processes set in motion by allopolyploidization. Experience and interest in some or all of the following computational areas would be relevant: analysis of NGS datasets, comparative genomics, variant calling, molecular phylogenetics, and selection analyses. The initial appointment will be for one year from the date of hire, with the possibility of renewal beyond the initial term. This work is highly collaborative, with the possibility of contributing to additional projects in Dan Sloanâs lab at Colorado State University and Dan Petersonâs lab at Mississippi State University. Required Minimum Qualifications:
Â Expertise in evolutionary biology; demonstrated proficiency in bioinformatics and computational biology; experience in mentoring; experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion programs
