Research Associate/Senior Research Associate, Molecular Biology The Ott lab at the Gladstone Institute of Virology is recruiting an experienced RA/SRA to contribute molecular biology and bioengineering skills for ongoing virology research and development of viral diagnostics.
Responsibilities Â Â Â â¢Â Â Â Design and execute molecular biology experiments, interpret results, maintain excellent records, and routinely present project updates Â Â Â â¢Â Â Â Perform experiments relevant to viral diagnostic assay development using CRISPR-Cas technology Â Â Â â¢Â Â Â Molecular biology research activities may include manipulation of DNA, RNA, and proteinÂ in vitro, quantitative PCR, protein purification, molecular cloning, etc. Â Â Â â¢Â Â Â Work independently and collaboratively to complete experiments and research projects
Required Qualifications: Â Â Â â¢Â Â Â BS/BA or MS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related field Â Â Â â¢Â Â Â 2+ years of hands-on lab experience Â Â Â â¢Â Â Â Strong foundation in general molecular biology techniques Â Â Â â¢Â Â Â Outstanding communication skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask with effective time management Â Â Â â¢Â Â Â Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications: Â Â Â â¢Â Â Â MS is preferred Â Â Â â¢Â Â Â Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast paced and dynamic environment Â Â Â â¢Â Â Â Experience with infectious diseases, virology, bioengineering, bioinformatics or diagnostics is a plus
