Essential Functions: The Perinatology Research Branch (PRB) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) in partnership with Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, conducts clinical and translational research in obstetrics and perinatal medicine.The Laboratories of the Perinatology Research Branch have locations at Hutzel Women's Hospital and the C.S. Mott Center for Human Growth and Development. The PRB serves Southeastern Michigan as the primary obstetrical care center for the Detroit Medical Center (DMC), an affiliate of Wayne State University (WSU). One of our missions is to increase and enhance research in reproductive sciences, identify the most critical areas of women's health research, and facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations to fill in the knowledge gap. We aim to enhance educational opportunities in reproductive sciences and establish a thriving community of reproductive science researchers at Wayne State University. Our research is enhanced by a highly collaborative environment within the School of Medicine.Successful candidates will be able to perform the following:Conduct analysis of clinical and high-throughput longitudinal biological data such as transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics. Develop methodologies and software tools to enable longitudinal data analysis for biomarker development and risk assessment.Conduct original research publications in lead and support role.Work closely with other members of Dr. Adi Tarca's lab and his collaborators from the Perinatology Research Branch to analyze data and support interpretation and dissemination of findings.Attend seminars, meetings and workshops appropriate to your career stage.Participate in career development along with the mentor and mentoring committee.Give lectures on data analysis methods relevant to obstetrical research. Additional duties as assigned.
