This position is in the Department of Neurology. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
The goals of the laboratory are to gain insights of molecular mechanisms underlying axon degeneration and to identify new therapeutic agents that can be translated into relevant treatment strategies for patients.� The project focuses on AAV-gene therapy for peripheral neuropathy.� The person in this position will perform experiments, scRNA seq, mouse and human-derived neuron cultures, processing of mouse and human tissue, electron microscopy, behavioral mouse experiments, data acquisition and data analysis.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tissue acquisition and processing.
Cell culture experiments.
Assure compliance with established safety procedures and maintaining of required documentation of laboratory and specimen conditions.
Assist with general lab maintenance.
Doctorate degree (Ph.D., M.D).
Base pay commensurate with experience.

Experience in a wet lab, especially with human and mouse neuron culture, sc RNA seq, and tissue processing and analysis.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, communicate effectively with laboratory staff and investigators, maintain complete and organized records/reports and have working knowledge of computer software and general lab equipment.
