A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in Dr. George Huang laboratory, Department of Bioscience Research. University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Dentistry.
The postdoctoral fellow responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
1-Participate in research focusing on the studies of stem cells and regenerative medicine.
2-Engage in experimental techniques which will include tissue cultures, adult stem cell isolation and maintenance, growth of human embryonic stem cells, reprogrammed pluripotent stem cells, cell differentiation studies, signal transduction regulation, RNA/DNA isolation, qPCR, ELISA assays, immunostaining, fluorescence staining, histology staining, flow cytometry epigenetic studies, cell transduction, microarray concept, basic confocal microscopy and photomicrographs.
3-Execute biochemical procedures such as electrophoresis, blotting, staining. Organize and analyze data, ImageJ, photoshop, SPSS, SAS, and other computer software applications; and prepare manuscript(s) for publication.
4-Perform advanced laboratory research activities such as animal surgery for tissue regeneration studies, recombinant DNA techniques, protein purification, and hybridizations.
5-Provide guidance and training to laboratory personnel and students.
6- May perform administrative duties such as: training and guiding students and/or other laboratory technicians; assisting in developing policies, procedures and/or methods for laboratory experimentation, and ordering supplies.
