The Rockefeller University seeks a Research Assistant, Yeast Molecular Genetics to join Yeast Molecular Genetics. The Research Assistant will work with molecular biologists and physicists on molecular, genetic and cell biological analysis in microbial systems. The Research Assistant will perform a moderate amount of laboratory management and inventory maintenance/ordering. Will be involved in molecular biology procedures such as DNA isolation, PCR, restriction mapping, plasmid construction, protein extraction, immunopreparation, and enzyme assays. Will work independently when appropriate. Will be involved in molecular biology procedures such as DNA isolation, PCR, restriction mapping, plasmid construction, protein extraction, immunopreparation, and enzyme assays. Will also be required to perform a moderate amount of laboratory management and ordering. maintenance of stock solutions, plate preparation, and assisting other laboratory members with experiments.
Bachelor's degree in science required. Basic laboratory skills required. Experience in molecular biology (gels, PCR, cloning, etc.) a plus. Must have strong organizational skills and ability to work well with others.
