Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Pathology department at Rutgers, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The Soto biomedical research laboratory seeks one postdoctoral researcher for studies of the mechanisms of cell polarization during cell migrations in C. elegans embryogenesis. This position is supported by grants from the National Institutes for Health. Highly motivated individuals with a passion for cell biology and developmental genetics of embryonic development are encouraged to apply. The laboratory uses genetics, cell biology and live imaging to investigate how the cytoskeleton is polarized during key events in development, including embryonic enclosure by the epidermis. The laboratory is part of the vibrant community of ten C. elegans labs of Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and Rutgers University on a shared campus. We are located in central New Jersey, close to New York City and Philadelphia. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Designs, performs and analyzes experiments in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, genetics or behavioral science.
Remains up-to-date in relevant scientific literature.
Contributes writing, figures and analysis to create scientific papers for submission to journals.
Presents research at national scientific conferences.
Develops leadership skills by supporting the scientific training of junior trainees.
Minimum Education and Experience:
A Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or related field.
Candidates in all-but-degree (ABD) status will also be considered.
Prior experience with fluorescence microscopy, image processing, biochemistry, C. elegans genetics, or mathematical modeling.
