Description: The North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Center for Post-Harvest Technologies located on the North Carolina Research Campus (NCRC) in Kannapolis, North Carolina is seeking a candidate for a research associate position with experience in phytopharmacology or medicinal sciences. The applicant should have a PhD in plant science, pharmacology, microbiology, food science or closely related discipline and some degree of prior experience in isolation and extraction of phytochemicals from plant materials, metabolomics, bioinformatics, 3-D imaging technologies applications and use of flow cytometric analysis (Amnis Imaging flow cytometry platform and cell sorting). You must be well versed in pharmacology, and metabolomics, biochemistry, mammalian cell biology as this job involves significant work in understanding mechanistic studies as they pertain extraction of phytochemicals for anti-viral testing. Prior experience of work in each of these areas as well as experience with live animals and knowledge of flow cytometry and imaging techniques is a plus. The applicant must be able to design and conduct experiments, prepare and present their work at meetings, write scientific manuscripts, and speak fluently in English.
