The Department of Genetics at Yale University is looking to fill a research track faculty position for an Assistant or Associate Scientific Manager, depending on experience. The position will provide key strategic support to further the Department's core values of diversity, innovation and excellence in biomedical research. The primary function of the role is to work closely with individual faculty across a range of areas relating to their scientific and professional growth.

About the role:
Reporting directly to the Scientific Director and Advisor to the Chair, the primary responsibilities of the role are:
To provide strategic advice to faculty regarding their individual research program, both experimentally and conceptually.
To work with faculty in the preparation of new and ongoing individual investigator-led funding proposals.
To work with faculty in the preparation of new and ongoing manuscript submissions.
To work closely with faculty in the design and creation of new, innovative training grants in areas relevant to genetic research.
To provide support for the Scientific Director and Advisor to the Chair in new and ongoing departmental initiatives.

Members of the Department of Genetics conduct basic, clinical and translational research using genetics and genomics of model organisms (yeast, fruit fly, worm, zebrafish, mouse) and humans to understand fundamental mechanisms of biology and disease. Areas of active investigation include genetic and epigenetic regulation of development and disease, molecular genetics, stem cells and other dynamic cellular systems, regulation of gene expression, computational biology and human genomics.
