Employment Type: Permanent Faculty Vacancy ID: FAC0003466 Position Summary/Description: The Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking an individual to join a productive research and academic enterprise. This is a non-clinical, full-time, Professor with tenure position. Salary will be determined at a level commensurate with the applicant's experience and accomplishments. This Professor role will conduct research in the Gene Therapy Center. The position will have a primary rank in Pediatrics and secondary appointment in the Gene Therapy Center. Responsibilities include conducting independent research experiments, grant writing, and securing independent funding from external sources (NIH, etc.). Education and Experience: The ideal candidate will have trained in immunology with research experience in viral vectors/gene delivery and small animal surgery. Preference for significant experience in an academic setting performing similar research (10 years or more strongly preferred). Candidate must have strong record of independent NIH funding and publications in gene therapy.
