DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, performs waived, moderate, and high complexity testing; evaluates test results; performs and evaluates quality control procedures; performs preventive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting. Provides laboratory services in a timely manner and consistently delivers excellent customer service. Serves as a technical resource for customers, other staff. Adheres to all safety policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduation from college with a major in an appropriate scientific field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or approved subspecialty license if working in designated specialty area.

• Less than two (2) years experience qualifies as CLS level; two (2) + years of experience qualifies as CLS Specialist.

• Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties assigned to the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Clinical laboratory experience.
• Clinical laboratory experience in Molecular Genetics.
• Clinical Genetic Molecular Biology (CGMBS).

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

• Must be able to work all shifts, week-ends, holidays, overtime, and at various locations as necessary in accordance with operational needs.
