The Department of Ophthalmology of the Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) and the Department of Surgery in the Division of Ophthalmology at Childrenâs Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) are actively seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of Assistant Professor of Research Ophthalmology.
The candidateâs research should be focused on the development and application of liquid biopsy and molecular diagnostics to study pathophysiology and improve diagnostic/therapeutic evaluation of ocular and systemic diseases. The candidate will actively participate in ongoing research projects for integrating patient, model system, and high-content single particle data to translate clinically observed correlations into a mechanistic understanding of the physical and biological underpinning of cancer dynamics. Moreover, with this knowledge, the successful candidate will help establish clinical utilities of identified biomarkers for clinical management for cancer patients. The laboratory provides an invigorating, collaborative, and productive work environment. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in cancer genomics, molecular computational biology, with a strong publication record, excellent analytical and communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary research team.
The candidate should have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) and the demonstrated ability to conduct compelling independent research and to attract external research funding.
