Postdoctoral scholar position available in the Zlokovic lab at the Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, Los Angeles for studies on âMicrobiome and blood-brain barrier (BBB) in Alzheimerâs disease (AD)â using iPSC-derived and other organotypic culture models of human BBB and neurovascular unit, and transgenic mouse models with genetic risk factors for AD. The ideal candidate will apply stem cell technology, RNAseq analysis, microbiome sequencing and diversity analysis, and functional measurements of BBB models and neuronal function using protocols established in the lab to generate and interrogate iPSC-derived endothelial cells, pericytes, neurons and glia. In addition, the ideal candidate will have interest and some experience in experimental or transgenic mouse models. He/she will work under supervision of the Principle Investigator, and will closely collaborate with other Research Scientists in the lab and lab members.
